EVC - Where Every Voice Matters

Every Voice Choirs helps young people discover their voices and share them with pride. We are music educators who empower children by teaching them to share their voices confidently through their singing and throughout their lives.

Based at Columbia University Teachers College, EVC is unique for bringing exceptional choral training to ALL children. Everyone ages 7-16 is welcome in EVC's core choirs - Kids Choir and Youth Choir - without audition. EVC VoiceAbility is for children ages 9-13 with special needs. For EVC singers who seek additional, rigorous choral training, the Concert Choir provides the opportunity to perform challenging works in collaborations with adult choirs and orchestras.

Recognizing how deeply personal voices are, EVC teaches healthy, flexible vocal technique while valuing each students’ musical experience, ability and taste. We help students set goals for their vocal development and work with them to achieve those goals. Students are nurtured as musical leaders who learn to improvise freely, create their own songs, and share their voices and their ideas with confidence throughout the process of learning and performing.
