Outreach Coordinator

Every Voice Choirs’ (EVC) mission is to help youth discover their voices and share them with pride. EVC has seven choirs that serve people ages 7-18. Based on the firm belief that every voice should be nurtured, all but one of EVC’s choirs welcomes everyone, without auditions. Members of all of EVC’s choirs have been featured in prominent performance venues, including Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, CitiField, Merkin Concert Hall, and Miller Theater.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Outreach Coordinator will support EVC’s effort to expand its impact in New York City with a focus on West Harlem & Central Harlem. The Outreach Coordinator coordinates EVC’s efforts in outreach, mobilizing and equipping all EVC stakeholders to be ambassadors for the organization and to support EVC’s enrollment and diversity goals. Success in this position requires developing and executing an outreach strategy with thorough documentation and consistent follow-up.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee EVC’s efforts to recruit participants for all choirs.
  • Oversee development of materials for recruitment for all programs.
  • Oversee dissemination of materials for recruitment in the community, including to schools, parent groups, community centers and organizations, and government entities.
  • Cultivate relationships with key individuals for recruitment, partnerships, artistic collaborations, and funding.
  • Attend community events and networking events, and coordinate and support other staff/volunteers who attend such events.
  • Strategically document and plan next steps for all key partner relationships.
  • Oversee creation and execution of a social media strategy to enhance EVC’s online profile for recruitment, partnerships, and artistic collaborations
  • Build a network for connecting EVC Alumni
  • Participate as a leadership team member in all EVC projects and events, participating at each event as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with/in NYC public schools and/or community organizations
  • Experience/training in community outreach
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Proficiency with Canva, Google suite, and CRM tools
Schedule and Location
  • 8 hours per week spread over five weekdays, with the possibility of expanding to more hours in the future.
  • Much of the work can be done remotely. In-person meetings take place approximately once/week. School visits and networking events are in-person.
Compensation

$22-25/hour, based on level of experience with outreach work in community nonprofit organizations.

Hiring Schedule
